Exploring the Light-Cone through Semi-Inclusive Hadronic Distributions
Light-cone dominance is established for a particular set of semi-inclusive observables in e+e− hadronic annihilation. This allows to deduce, with a certain degree of rigor, the angular distribution of hadronic energy from first principles, without invoking quark-hadron duality. ⋆ Address until August 31st, 1998. ⋆⋆ Permanent address.
متن کاملSemi-inclusive hadronic B decays in the endpoint region
We consider in the soft-collinear effective theory semi-inclusive hadronic B decays, B → XM , in which an energetic light meson M near the endpoint recoils against an inclusive jet X. We focus on a subset of decays where the spectator quark from the B meson ends up in the jet. The branching ratios and direct CP asymmetries are computed to next-to-leading order accuracy in αs and to leading orde...
متن کاملInclusive Jet ET Distributions and Light Gluinos.
In the light gluino variant of the minimal supersymmetric model gluino pairs can be readily produced in collider experiments even if the squarks are arbitrarily heavy. This enhances the jet transverse energy distributions. In addition the slower running of the strong coupling constant in the presence of light gluinos leads to a further enhancement at higher transverse energies relative to the s...
متن کاملSemi - inclusive polarized DIS in terms of Melin moments . I . Light sea quark polarized distributions
In connection with the semi-inclusive polarized DIS, it is proposed to consider the first Melin moments ∆q of the polarized quark and antiquark densities, instead of the respective variables δq(x), local in Bjorken x themselves. This gives rise to a very essential simplification of the next to leading order (NLO) QCD and, besides, allows one to use the respective QCD sum rules. An expression fo...
متن کاملDiffractive parton distributions in light - cone QCD ∗
We discuss recent theoretical results on diffractive deeply inelastic scattering, focusing on the partonic picture of diffraction in configuration space and the predictions for the β behavior and the scaling violation. Typeset using REVTEX Talk by F. Hautmann at the International Symposium on Multiparticle Dynamics and QCD ISMD99, Brown University, 9-13 August 1999, to appear in the proceedings.
